Vincci Porto

The building was used in the past as the fish market, and the hotel managed to transfer it to a nice hotel. The staff were very nice, ready to help and smiling always to guests. Breakfast is very good, like 5 stars, all that you need in a buffete . Rooms are good modern. In front of the hotel you can take bis 500 to old city 10 minutes and also take same bus to the other side to walk or swim in the Ocean. We stayed at this hotel in Lisbon and decided to go the same hotel in Porto.

We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room was large, spacious bathroom with separate bath and shower, a great bed and pillows. It had all the little luxuries we needed (including a small port!). Breakfast was excellent, the staff were really efficient and friendly. The hotel has a great rooftop bar with views of the river. It’s 20 minutes out of town. A flat walk along the river but obviously uphill to the city. But the area was reasonably quiet, without the hustle and bustle of the city centre, which was tourist heavy. We walked most of the time but Bolt cabs are plentiful, we never waited more than 6 or 7 minutes, and the fare into town is only about 5 Euros. The hotel was previously a derelict market and has been designed with an industrial / art deco feel, which we were a bit unsure about when we booked. But the design really works, we loved the hotel.

It was well worth the extra euros 60 per night to get a 'suite' with a river view as we could see the last bridge over the Douro and sunsets from our balcony. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and breakfasts were very good. Our suite was spacious and comfortable, and we loved the art deco architecture (which is why I chose this hotel). The public transport (including old trams) into the centre of Porto super conveniently located right outside. And the tram museum next door is worth a visit.

The room is exactly as pictured. I showed up around noon (3 hours before check in), and the staff was able to find me a room early. Very friendly and welcoming. Staff at the upstairs restaurant was extremely friendly as well. Unfortunately it was raining during my stay so the patio was not open. They have a nice morning breakfast with a good selection a delicious fresh squeezed orange juice. . The location is wonderful. On the river and a 20 minute walk into the main part of town. Still far enough away to be quiet wt night.. Lots of cafes and restaurants around by the river if you aren't feeling up to going into town. Ubers and taxis come quickly. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a river view room and the view was very nice. The view from the roof top restaurant is also very nice. The electric window blinds, nets and curtains is a nice touch. The hotel very kindly let us drop our luggage early which was very handy as we got to the hotel 5 hours before our check-in time. The breakfast was good and there was a good variety of food.
